Northstar Aurora rod

The NS-047 Aurora color is the most versatile and expressive in the Exotic range. It allows you to create a wide palette of tones, ranging from deep magentas and fuchsias to bright greens and metallic brown shades, depending on the flame used.

You work these colors in a strongly oxidizing flame to preserve their saturation and prevent any loss of quality in the result. You proceed slowly and with precision, as these glasses react strongly to heat and require a controlled approach.

You work Aurora in different atmospheres to evolve its appearance: in a highly oxidizing flame, you achieve deep violets and blues; in a neutral flame, you reveal greens and amber tones; in a strong reduction, you bring out rich reds and browns.

You create unique mirror-like effects by finishing your piece in an oxidizing atmosphere, then applying a very brief reduction phase. You can also reduce the color and then encase it in clear glass to generate complex textures and patterns by stretching the surface.

You also explore layering effects with clear glass to achieve rich and dynamic compositions. Each combination opens up new visual possibilities.

You further enhance its potential by encasing it in clear glass to amplify depth and brightness. To go even further, you combine NS-047 Aurora with NS-013 Amber/Purple in encasement, which intensifies contrasts and reveals even more complex metallic and color effects.
